Flautas de pollo al horno
35 minutes · 4 servings · omnivore
Flautas are rolled tortillas filled with meat or beans; baking is a common home adaptation.
Ingredients
Check you have the quantities below.
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup crema
Let’s make it
- Heat the oven to 425 F / 220 C and line a tray.
- Mix the chicken with cheese and salt, roll into the tortillas, and place seam-side down on the tray.
- Brush or spray with oil and bake 15–18 minutes, turning once, until crisp and hot.
- Top with lettuce, salsa, and crema before serving.
Baking instead of frying makes these easier for family meals, and kids can dip them in crema.
Cooking time varies with equipment and batch size. Follow school allergy rules for children’s meals; keep perishable lunches cold.
