Check you have the quantities below.
- 1 cup dried seaweed (miyuk), soaked and chopped
- 6 oz (170 g) beef, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups water
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
Let’s make it
- Soak the seaweed in water until soft, then drain and chop.
- Cook the beef in sesame oil in a pot over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and seaweed and cook 1 minute more.
- Add water, soy sauce, and salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer 20 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice.
The seaweed softens a lot in the soup, so it is easy for kids to eat.
Cooking time varies with equipment and batch size. Follow school allergy rules for children’s meals; keep perishable lunches cold.
